An MP left a note to himself which read "insert if there has been a bereavement" in an email to one of his constituents. Tory MP Anthony Mangnall has apologised for the "stupid" mistake which he has admitted "caused a great deal of offence".
The Totnes MP left the instructional mistake in a message he sent in response to emails he received about Number 10 aide Dominic Cummings's controversial lockdown trip to Durham.
An extract of one message was shared on social media. The third paragraph of Mr Mangnall’s response reads: "[Insert if there has been a bereavement: May I add my condolences to the recent loss of your family member. "The current situation has made the ability to mourn the passing of loved ones all the more difficult.
