The body of Ngapekare Marenga was recovered from the water on Sunday evening (July 18). Police coroner's officer Stefan Wilson told Bolton Coroner's Court that Ngapekare, who could not swim, had gone to the Quays with friends earlier in the day. But Ngapekare, a college student who lived in Ardwick, later joined his friends in the water and found himself in difficulty.
