In reference to his 2019 "Nunya" song, which many people think is about Pinkett Smith, Alsina told Yee that he spoke to Pinkett-Smith's husband of 23 years, Will Smith, about his involvement with Smith's wife. "I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership that they've spoken on several times and it not involving romanticism," he said.
He added that Smith gave him his "blessing." Alsina said he "totally gave [himself] to that relationship for years of my life and I truly and really, really deeply loved and have a ton.
