An important travel warning has been issued across Greater Manchester ahead of Christmas week - with major events taking place.

There will be delays and changes to the timetables on buses and trams across the network from December 21. A Peter Kay show, Christmas Markets and Manchester United and City games have prompted Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to urge people to plan ahead.

There will be new timetables for various public transport services over Christmas and into the new year. Specific measures are also being put in place to help manage busier days in Manchester city centre, including a temporary park and ride car park outside of the city centre.

Over the weekend (December 21-22), the city will host Peter Kay at the AO Arena. It is also the final weekend of the Christmas Markets and Manchester United's home game against Bournemouth.
