Scots who tow trailers or caravans from next week. Holiday hotspots have seen an increased number of visitors during the pandemic, but a new rule will affect those who tow from their cars or vans.

Some of the alterations mean drivers will no longer have to take a test in order to tow horses on the road. The vital changes are coming into play from autumn 2021.The UK Government law change applies to Scotland, England and Wales.Here’s a rundown of all the changes we will see in 2021.What will changeIf you passed your car driving test from 1 January 1997, you’ll be allowed to tow trailers up to 3,500kg MAM (Maximum Authorised Mass) when the law changes.DVLA will update your driving licence record to show that you’re allowed to tow trailers..
