Paula McHugh says she woke in the early hours of Sunday (October 3) to see a man going through her freezer - before he sped away in her yellow Fiat Panda.

She told the Manchester Evening News she had fallen asleep on the couch of her home on Highfield Drive, Farnworth, leaving the window open for the cats.
