Dramatic bodycam footage has revealed the moment a suspect was chased by police through the woods before being arrested 'knee deep in a river'.

On Tuesday morning (April 23), police received a 999 call to report a stolen vehicle speeding off from a residential area in Cheetham Hill.

Specialist drivers from our Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit later found the van on Long Street in Middleton. After approaching the vehicle, the suspects then ran off, with one man leading an officer on a foot chase through a woodland area. Bodycam footage shared by Greater Manchester Police shows the moment the officer threatened to taser the suspect before he was handcuffed and taken into custody.
