Idris Elba is helping us find some hope in these trying times. The 47-year-old Luther actor – who has recovered from the coronavirus himself – spoke to UK viewers via a message on the BBC.

In the segment, released on Friday (April 10), Idris read the poem “Don’t Quit” from American poet John Greenleaf Whittier. Idris read, “When things go wrong as they sometimes will; when the road you’re trudging seems all uphill; when the funds are low but the debts are high; when you want to smile but you have to sigh; when care is pressing you down a bit, rest if you must but don’t you quit.” Watch below.

At the end of March, Idris Elba revealed that he was past the quarantine period, but still couldn’t go home yet – watch his video.
