It's a integral part of Manchester's rich musical tapestry, and today, legendary venue and pub, The Star & Garter has issued an update on its future.

The Grade II-listed building on Fairfield Street in Manchester city centre will continue to operate as an independent music venue and pub, following a commitment from its new operator to honour the legacy of its much-loved landlord, Andy Martin, who sadly passed away last year.

Broadwick, a global events business behind venues including Depot Mayfield, will immediately invest in The Star & Garter, by focusing on 'essential infrastructure improvements' while preserving the venue’s 'iconic atmosphere and unique charm'.

Danny Marsh will continue to run The Star & Garter as business as usual, and all the gigs and shows booked, including The Smiths Night, will remain.
