Iceland giving pensioners £30 voucher to help with rising cost of living

Iceland has announced that pensioners all across the country will be able to get a £30 voucher towards their groceries amidst soaring food costs.

The frozen foods supermarket chain has joined forces with The Rothesay Foundation to launch their new 'Summer Cheer' campaign which will be available until September 16.

It will see thousands of pensioners who rely solely on state pensions, living independently or with a carer, eligible for a £30 voucher that can be used towards "food and other essentials." The campaign will also provide copies of Age UK's financial advice information guide, reports Wales Online.News of the new voucher comes just after Iceland also launched another scheme for anyone over the age of 60 earlier this year.

In May, they became the first supermarket chain to offer anyone over the age of 60 a 10% discount that applies to every Tuesday.
