In his director’s note, Crialese calls “L’immensità” a memory-based film for which he needed the necessary time, distance and self-awareness to make. Though not strictly autobiographical, it is based on the director’s personal experience transitioning. As Crialese tells Variety, Adriana’s character is a representation of himself.

In last year’s court case in New York we heard from a long line of Kelly’s victims, who each described how he had groomed and then abused them.However, the current trial in Chicago has focused much more on the specific abuse of Jane – which began when she was about fourteen – and efforts by Kelly and his team to cover up that abuse after the leaking of a video tape in the early 2000s.The leaking of the tape that seemed to show Kelly sexually abusing Jane led to the earlier criminal proceedings against the star in the mid-2000s.

Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler has denied allegations of sexual misconduct that have been made against him by four people. Three women say that he engaged in “inappropriate” relationships with them, while a fourth person, who is gender fluid, alleges that he sexually assaulted them twice.The accusations were made in a detailed report published by Pitchfork last week, with the three women – all of whom met Butler though being fans of Arcade Fire – saying that they had sexual interactions with him during various periods between 2016 and 2020, while they were aged between eighteen and 23 and he was in his late 30s.Subsequently, says Pitchfork, “they came to feel” that those interactions “were inappropriate given the gaps in age, power dynamics, and context in which they occurred”.The fourth person says that Butler assaulted them twice in 2015, once while travelling in a car and a second time at their home, when they were 21 and he was 34.Pitchfork says that it has viewed screenshots of text and Instagram messages confirming the relationships, and interviewed family members of the accusers who recalled being told about the incidents at the time they occurred.In a statement, issued through a crisis PR rep, Butler did not deny that any of the relationships had occurred, but said that all had been “consensual”, and that his wife and bandmate Régine Chassagne had been aware of them.

Management firm TaP Music last week confirmed that Larry Heard and Robert Owens – prominent players from the 1980s Chicago house scene and two thirds of Fingers Inc – have settled their legal dispute with Trax Records, the label they worked with in the mid-80s. But its problems are scarcely in the rear-mirror and it simultaneously announced that it will raise a further $500 million of capital. Revenues in the April to June 2022 period, the second quarter of iQiyi’s financial year, dropped by 13% to RMB 6.66 billion. Net losses for the quarter weighed in at RMB214 million. That was a massive reduction compared with the RMB1.40 deficit recorded in the equivalent quarter in 2021. But it also represented a return to loss after recording a maiden first quarter profit – RMB169 million – in the January to March period.
