Chelsea led at the interval thanks to Olivier Giroud's header but their defence came unstuck early in the second half as Anwar El Ghazi poked in while unmarked at the back post.
Christensen was handed a rare start in the Premier League clash and was caught in a tangle with Jack Grealish prior to El Ghazi's equaliser.
