Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright believes Cristiano Ronaldo's reaction to being substituted in Manchester United's 3-1 win over Brentford last week has the potential to harm his reputation.

With United two goals to the good with just under 20 minutes of the contest remaining, interim manager Ralf Rangnick made the decision to set about shutting up shop, taking off Ronaldo in place of Harry Maguire.

Although the move carried a great weight of sense, Ronaldo reacted angrily to Rangnick's tactical switch, throwing his tracksuit coat to the ground in frustration, before cutting a deeply frustrated figure on the bench whilst speaking to his team-mates and members of the coaching staff.

Rangnick moved to console Ronaldo and have a quiet word in his ear, before insisting that it was normal for a player of Ronaldo's qualities to display such disappointment after being taken off.
