Ian Wright has criticised Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo following his angry reaction to being substituted at Brentford on Wednesday night.

The Portuguese ace showed his displeasure at being subbed for Harry Maguire as Ralf Rangnick's United looked to see the game out in the dying embers of the game.

Ronaldo was seen having a conversation with Rangnick before chucking his coat to the floor. Opinion on the incident has been mixed with Ally McCoist stating that reaction showed that the 36-year-old is a 'superstar'.

However, speaking to Premier League Productions, Wright disagreed. "You see Ronaldo come off and act like that. "It's Cristiano Ronaldo and that goes worldwide, just seeing sitting there, he didn't even want to sit on the bench – he sat on the stairs. "I understand if you're a youngster and you've made your debut, played brilliantly and then come off and do that, I understand that.
