A mum who woke from a Covid coma to discover she'd given birth to a baby girl has shared her joy at being pregnant again. It was during the pandemic in 2021 that Laura Leece fell ill with the virus.

Her condition deteriorated so much that she was sedated for an emergency C-section at 31 weeks, more than two months before her due date of October 15.

She's been told that she nodded to consent to the birth before being put into a coma, but has no recollection of it. Her first memory is coming round seven weeks later to be greeted with the sight of the precious daughter she didn't even know she'd had.

Born prematurely, weighing just 3lb 7oz at Royal Bolton Hospital, she'd spent five weeks on the neonatal unit, but by this time was back home with dad John and brother William.
