Seemingly everyone who walks in is greeted by name by the cheery staff. Everyone gets a chirpy "good to see you again", and punters nestle into their "favourite" spot in the floral-emblazoned cabin set next to a garden centre.
Even mid-week on a lunchtime the place is packed with a roster of regulars. But then it's no surprise there's such a devoted clientele here when the grub is as good as this. For the café is run by Emma Gleave, wife of Coronation Street icon Simon Gregson, aka Steve McDonald. He knows only too well how good his wife's baking skills are, having enjoyed them all to himself over their past 13 years of marriage.
