Actor Matt Greenwood was sent to drama classes at the age of six after struggling with shyness. He never imagined that one day it would lead to a role in an Oscar-winning film.

Matt, 25, was once so shy, he even couldn't ask for tomato ketchup at McDonald's. His mum Debbie decided he needed a confidence boost.

The Manchester actor went on to play the first transgender character in a family drama in the Rochdale-based BBC One school drama Waterloo Road.
