The right winger was part of the academy wave that gave birth to the Class of ‘92 but the 1994 Charity Shield would be the only piece of silverware he would lift at Old Trafford.
Being deemed surplus to requirements due to Premier League squad rules at the time, the Northern Irishman was sold to Newcastle in a 1995 deal that saw Andy Cole move the other way.
Cole went on to be part of the 1999 Treble team, and ended his time at United with five Premier League titles, two FA Cups and a Champions League.
