Wackadoo! A new Bluey special is coming to Disney+ this week.The hugely popular kids’ TV show is releasing an extended episode called The Sign, in which the Heeler family put their house up for sale and also hit the road to attend a wedding.

Bluey – famous for its catchphrases including “wackadoo”, “for real life” and “oh, biscuits!” – has become a global phenomenon with A-list fans including Eva Mendes, Rose Byrne and Billy Joel.

Natalie Portman even lent her voice to The Whale episode. But Dave McCormack, who voices Bluey’s dad Bandit, is disappointed never to have met any of these celebrities. “I thought somehow I would become their friend,” says Dave, 55, who is also the frontman of 90s rock band Custard. “I know Eva Mendes is a fan so I thought me and Ryan [Gosling] would probably be friends.

And I see Billy Joel likes it, so I thought maybe me and Billy Joel could be friends. But no one’s reached out. I just thought that by osmosis I’d become friends with all these famous celebrities.
