I visited enchanting Christmas lights unlike any other hidden away in the countryside

I was almost in disbelief at the sight before me. Without a shadow of a doubt, it was the finest Christmas lights display I've had the pleasure of attending.

Each segment surpassed the previous in grandeur, ornateness and theatrics. Naturally, the location significantly amplified the enchantment—a festive light showcase amidst the lush English countryside by one of the nation's most stately homes naturally carries an extra sprinkle of wonder, compared to the allure of urban displays.

My visit was to The Festival of Light at Longleat in Wiltshire. This year's theme, "Journey Through Time", is a vivid chronicle of Earth's history from the age of dinosaurs up until our modern era, with the festival running until January 5, 2025.

However, my experience dates back to 2023 with the "Treasured Tales" theme. My accommodation was conveniently close at the nearby Center Parcs, making for an easy journey down the extensive driveway of Longleat House to the parking area.
