Nothing beats a tasty piece of bread smothered in Lurpak, but the cost of the Danish butter has soared in recent months.The tubs have been spotted in certain supermarkets with a staggering £10 price tag, and some have even been fitted with anti-theft devices to ward off shoplifters.
Because of this, many people have turned to different brands in order to get their butter fix. But with each supermarket offering their own unique product, it can be difficult to know which ones are actually worth buying - and taste good.
To help shoppers find out once and for all, Wales Online journalist Andrew Nuttall decided to put three different supermarket butter brands to the test, comparing it to the Lurpak we all know and love.
He headed out to Morrisons, Tesco, Aldi and Lidl to pick up each store's own brand of butter, as well as a tub of Lurpak, and carried out a taste test with some crusty bread to find out which one was truly the best.
