Surrounded by her broken hearted loved ones, Helen Hanley’s eyes remained fixed on the two people in the dock she said were responsible for ‘destroying’ her family.

Marvin Sutton, 35, and Charlene Thomas, 37, were being sentenced for their parts in a pre-planned theft of her husband’s car.

The incident ultimately led to in his death. Christopher ‘Chris’ Hanley was flung off the bonnet of his Land Rover Discovery as he tried to stop it from being stolen in March last year.

Thomas had distracted him as Sutton swiped the keys and drove off. Chris was left with fatal head injuries. After the collision, Sutton fled the scene.
