'I swapped my £31 mascara for this £8 alternative and it's my new favourite'

As a make-up enthusiast, I'm quite particular about my mascara. I want all: length, lift, volume, definition without any clumping or smudging throughout the day – and I find that very few can meet these expectations.

One of my go-to favourites, and one that I keep coming back to, is Gucci's Mascara L'Obscur. With its barrel-shaped silicone brush and (in my opinion) the ideal formula, it just makes my lashes look really great, and seems to improve the longer it's been open.

However, at £31, it's one of the more expensive mascaras on the market – but I think I've discovered a fantastic alternative for a fraction of the cost.
