Being kind and courteous to a bus driver is something that’s been instilled in me from a young age. But it’s not something everyone has been brought up on.

Last week, a reporter for sister site MyLondon found out that very fact for themselves when they decided to hop on a bus around the city for an hour to see just how many people thanked the driver.

In that entire hour, they had one single thank you. And they weren’t even 100 per cent sure it was directed towards the driver.

There is often a general consensus that people are more friendly in the north so, surely, Manchester can beat London’s paltry results?
