A supermarket employee was bemused when a customer threatened to "report her to head office" after she insisted on being served at a self-service checkout.

Supermarket worker Bonnie Madison shared her negative encounter with a customer on social media. She claims she was summoned to the self-service machine by a woman who wanted her to scan her items for her, which is clearly not the purpose of self-scan machines.

Speaking to her 191,000 TikTok followers, Bonnie said: "So apparently, I'm getting reported to head office because I refused service to someone - the till was open by the way, if you wanted to get served by a person, you could've just gone to that one but no, this lady goes to the self scan and calls me over for help." Warning: this video contains some strong language When a customer rudely asked for Bonnie to help scan items at the self-service checkouts, she was "a bit put off".

She advised going to a standard till instead, but the shopper declared "a till is a till". The customer pushed for Bonnie to "just scan" her items, to which she wishes she "refused right then and there".
