After 30 years of working in showbiz and being in the public eye, British actress Thandie Newton has decided she wants to be known by her actual name.
The actress revealed that her name is Thandiwe, and it has been said wrong for all these years after it was misspelled in one of her first movies.
The 48-year-old, whose full name is Melanie Thandiwe Newton, has appeared on the cover of the May issue of Vogue, and for the first time in many years, her real name is appearing on it.
Thandiwe described how she wanted to reclaim the original Zulu-derived spelling of her name which means ‘beloved’ and she revealed she will now she credited under her real name for all future projects.
