Kate underwent major abdominal surgery in January but post-op tests revealed cancer, it was revealed tonight. She is now on a course of 'preventative' chemotherapy and said to be in good spirits.
In a video message released by Kensington Palace, Kate revealed what she had told her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
She said: "As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.
