Electric blankets come in two types: 'over' or 'under'.The 'over' designs are like fleecy throws that you can plug in and warm up – perfect for those working from home days.
Electric 'under' blankets, on the other hand, resemble mattress protectors and fit between your mattress and sheet, reports the Mirror.
It was this latter category that I tested, trying out models from brands such as Dunelm, Dreams and John Lewis. However, the one that came up tops – and the one I've been using ever since – was the Dreamland Snowed In Organic Cotton Heated Mattress Protector.
