There may not be the kind of Aussie creepy-crawlies I’m A Celeb fans are used to in this year’s show. But it looks as if there will be plenty of creepiness of another kind.

Locals caught a glimpse of what might be in store at haunted Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales, when the hit ITV show’s crew tested their ­pyrotechnical wizardry before the launch next Sunday.

Ten ghostly figures made of shimmering fire were shot 100ft up into the night sky, drawing gasps from onlookers. The apparitions, with long ­orange and red flaming bodies and round heads floating above them, gave a glimpse of what to ex-spectre in the show after Covid forced its relocation from the jungle.
