Nicola McLean has revealed a surprising detail of just how gruelling the infamous I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! challenges really are.The WAG confessed that she actually wanted to take part in the stomach-churning eating trial during her time in the jungle and shared a funny anecdote she made to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly during the Bushtucker Trial.

Nicola, who is set to be the Mirror's official 2024 I'm A Celeb columnist, took part in the ITV reality show back in 2008, where she finished in sixth place.

Before her departure, Nicola had the pleasure of dining on animal testicles and eyeballs. During the trial named I Scream Van, alongside EastEnders star and eventual King of the Jungle Joe Swash, Nicola managed to eat three crocodile eyes, silkworms, crickets and a kangaroo's testicle.The former glamour model returned to camp victorious, where she jokingly asked her fellow campmates if she could fall pregnant from eating the animal testicle.

Speaking to the Mirror, she said: "Obviously that was a joke but I remember the papers wrote about that as if I was being serious!" Nicola added: "I was obviously joking and know how to give newspapers a good line, because everyone loves it, but the trials are worse than you see on telly!" Nicola reminisced about her time on I'm A Celeb and shared: "The eating trial... [points at her teeth] with these veneers there is no way I would be able to do it now.The kangaroo testicle and eyeball were so tough I had to push down to help me chew it, so no chance I could do it these days.
