Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

Charles Ingram is the latest famous face to be tipped by bookies for the 2020 series of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

The controversial former army major was the subject of the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? cheating scandal in 2001 alongside his wife Diana and former contestant Tecwen Whittock.

The Ingrams and their accomplice were found guilty of using an elaborate method of coughing to win the million-pound jackpot, but were eventually convicted in 2003.

Now, following the success of hit ITV drama Quiz which detailed the ins and outs of the Ingram’s cunning bid to the win a million, Charles may be in the running for yet another TV stint.
