A man is warning people to always do a patch test when using hair dye, after a terrifying reaction left him with a giant 'balloon head' reminiscent of the cartoon character Megamind.
Horrifying images reveal how Ryan Briggs's entire head swelled up, initially forming a large tyre-like shape around his forehead, before his whole face followed suit - requiring him to take 25 tablets a day to reduce it.
Ryan, from Blackburn, visited his mum's house on July 27 and discovered she'd purchased some black hair dye for him to cover up a few new grey hairs.
The 27 year-old applied the formula - but didn't do a patch test as he didn't think it was necessary, reports Lancs Live.
