Recounting painful personal experiences is never easy and for Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh, memories of her cousin’s tragic death in a hit and run are all too close.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, the presenter opened up about the incident which remains unsolved, 25 years later. The Nationwide host is speaking out as a part of a campaign to find out what happened to her cousin, Páraic Coffey, as the family still searches for answers a quarter of a century later.
Páraic was only 18-years-old the night he was hit by a car walking home to Rathcairn from a disco in Athboy, Co Meath. It was about 3am on 9 June and the incident shocked the close-knit Gaeltacht community.
