An artist says she hasn't vomited for over two decades due to her severe phobia. And now she believes that hypnotherapy could be her "best chance" at overcoming the fear.
Melody Grossman, 32, is currently fundraising for specialist treatment for her emetophobia – an intense fear or anxiety of vomiting or seeing others vomit – which she has had for as long as she can remember.
Although unsure of how the phobia developed, she recalls being "afraid of vomiting" during her childhood. Her last memory of being sick was when she was just six or seven years old.
Nowadays, Melody thinks about her emetophobia "multiple times a day", describing it as "a small monster living inside of (her)".
