With his 65th birthday approaching, his loyal fans are concerned that we could see the end of his reign on our telly due to retirement age rules within RTÉ.

But the veteran broadcaster wants to make it clear that he isn’t going anywhere. He jokes that he can’t afford to retire as he hasn’t ‘a penny to my name.’ Instead, he’s made sure that he hasn’t become a permanent member of the RTÉ team.
