‘I didn’t see the point’ Anne Doyle tells Tommy Tiernan why she never married

Anne Doyle is a familiar face to all of us around Ireland; over the years, we would all settle into the RTÉ News and be greeted with her welcoming demeanour.

We have missed her warm appearance on our screens so it was a lovely surprise to see her make a return to the studio. However, she wasn’t back to read the news and was actually being interviewed on the Tommy Tiernan Show, much to the presenter’s delight.

Anne has never been very public about her personal life, but she didn’t hold back and opened up to Tommy about everything, including why she never got married or had children.

Settling in as the first guest of the night, Tommy wasted no time in asking Anne why she has never made it down the aisle with her long-term partner Dan
