A brave father of two has shared the chilling encounter he had with Southport murderer Axel Rudakubana, moments after assisting victims.

Joel Veite, a 26 year old personal trainer, was helping his friend's window-cleaning business on July 29 last year when they decided to take a break due to the hot weather.Joel and his friend Marcin Tyjon stopped for coffee before returning to their car and driving down the road with "the music on and the windows down."However, Marcin noticed a disturbance when yoga teacher Leanne Lucas, who had organised a Taylor Swift themed dance event at the Hart Space community centre, was seen leaning against a car with a significant wound on her shoulder.

At this point, Rudakubana, armed with a kitchen knife, was in the studio where 26 children aged between 6 and 11 were dancing.Joel rushed to assist Leanne, telling The Sun: "She just shouted, 'He's stabbing kids in there'.

She pointed towards where the studio was. I didn't understand what was going on but I saw a big wound on her shoulder and realised something serious was happening. "She was on the phone to the police.
