'I attempted the Dirty Dancing lift on a night out. It changed my life in a split second'

It was a cold winter’s night in late 2019 and Jo Freeman was enjoying a night out in London with her friends. The 24-year-old was partying the night away when she agreed to attempt something dangerous.

Under the influence of cocaine and alcohol, Jo ran towards her dance partner as he joked she wouldn’t be able to jump high enough.

They were attempting the famous lift move from Dirty Dancing with a pal. To the horror of everyone around her, Jo leapt straight over his head and landed face-down on the concrete floor below.

The dancing graduate was blue-lighted to hospital where she thankfully learned she had no serious head injury or broken bones.
