According to multiple news reports from India, a 39-year-old woman named Putta Venkata Madhavi was murdered earlier this month in the small village of Rachakonda.

That tiny town is about 40 miles south of the major southern Indian city of Hyderabad. Madhavi had lived in the village with her husband, Putta Guru Murthy, who formerly served in the Indian military.

But on January 16, according to People via other Indian media outlets, Madhavi was allegedly killed by Murthy during a domestic dispute at their home.
