Darren Henderson is relishing another derby day as he eyes doing the double over Darvel. Hurlford United took the Irvine Valley bragging rights with a fine 1-0 win at Recreation Park.
And this Saturday they will clash as ‘Ford look to put them to the sword again. Henderson told the Kilmarnock Standard: “It’s a big one, of course it is. “Our result against them last time was strong but we know how good they are and we won’t be kidded on because we beat them. “On their day, they’ve got the strongest squad in the league and we will be giving them every bit of respect they deserve. “I am looking forward to it, though and it should be a good one.” He added: “It’s a different look for Darvel now without Mick Kennedy – we will see how it goes.” Henderson admits this season is all about consolidation and staying in the West of Scotland Premier Division after a year of countless injuries.
