France could be the next holiday destination to be removed from the air bridge list after an alarming spike in Covid-19 cases.

Infections in France, the UK’s second most popular holiday destination after Spain, rose by more than 1,600 over a 24-hour period for the second day in a row on Thursday, levels not seen since late May.
Asked what holidaymakers already in France or those due to visit should do, the Chancellor Rishi Sunak said it was a “tricky situation”.
