Hundreds of passengers trapped on ferry after crew members test positive for Covid-19

A Stena Line ferry is being held in a UK dock after six crew members on board tested positive for coronavirus last night. The ferry is currently docked in Birkenhead with 322 passengers and 53 crew members on board.

In a statement shared online, a Stena Line spokesperson said: "Stena Line can confirm that 6 members of the crew of the Stena Edda have tested positive for COVID-19 last night. "In line with our safety protocols we alerted the Port Health Authorities, who advised us to hold the vessel in Birkenhead as a precaution. "322 passengers and 53 crew are onboard.
