Glasgow’s main war memorial from vandalism attacks.The Loyalist Defence League had urged followers to converge in the city centre today for a 'protect the Cenotaph' event in response to statues being defaced across Scotland.Men, women and children can be seen gathering in the crowd during lockdown at Glasgow’s George Square.Police have formed a cordon around the square.Multiple memorials have been targeted with vandalism in response to the Black Lives Matter movement.The Cenotaph pays tribute to those from Glasgow who fought and died in World War I and World War II.The gathering takes place one day before another group - the Glasgow Youth Art Collective - plan to descend on the same location to agitate for the Sir Robert Peel statue to be.
