Hundreds of children get A&E help after taking drink or drugs

Almost 200 children aged 14 and under have been treated for drug or alcohol issues at Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital.Latest health board figures show 180 children aged 14 and under attended the emergency department at the RAH in the last five years.In total, there were 787 teenagers aged 17 and under seen by medics at the Paisley hospital in the last five years for drug or alcohol-related issues.This works out at 13, on average, being treated every month.The figures were revealed in a Freedom of Information request the Express made to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.Read More About: A spokeswoman for the health board said: “These figures include any time a child or young person presented to emergency at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for
