More than 300 people have objected to plans to convert one of Bolton’s longest established restaurants into a prayer hall and education centre.
The proposals centre on the Lagan restaurant building in Ladybridge, Bolton, which has operated at the site since 2006. The restaurant, at the Broadgate precinct in Ladybridge, underwent and extensive revamp in 2022 with a theme of dim lights and dark walls with cherry blossom trees around the dining room.
In documents supporting the application Mr A Patel of Raisfuel Ltd said the demographics of the local community had changed over the last 25 years, with a shift towards families with Asian heritage, mainly with Islamic beliefs.
