Police have launched an investigation after a bag of human bones were found in a river. Officers were called to the River Stour in Sudbury, Suffolk at 4.35pm on Thursday after the discovery and believe the bags contain human remains.
Police say a shopping trolley may have been used to move the bags. The area - a popular walk with locals and visitors - has been sealed off while the investigation continues.
This morning the area between Meadow Gates and Croft Bridge is still sealed off and detectives are urging anyone who has seen the bags in the river or knows how they came to be in the water - or who uses the popular walk - to come forward with any information.
