Hugh Grant and his partner Anna have donated tens of thousands of pounds to ‘Britain’s kindest plumber’. James Anderson set up DEPHER, which stands for Disabled and Elderly, Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response, in 2017.
Originally a plumber from Burnley, Lancashire, who provided work free-of-charge, he now runs Depher as a community interest company.
Its aim is to help those in poverty with essentials, like food, as well as paying energy bills. Depher relies on donations from kind-hearted members of the public.
