Police have thwarted a huge illegal rave potentially designed for more than a thousand people on moorland near Oldham. Following a tip-off that a group of 30 to 40 young people were seen heading into Crompton Moor near Shaw, Greater Manchester last night, officers were dispatched to the scene.
They imposed a dispersal order and turned a number of others away as they arrived at the scene. Officers also seized large speakers and are now trying to identify and track down the organisers.
They believe, due to the location of the planned rave, more than a thousand people could have attended the event, a clear breach of lockdown rules.
