"Bicstan," the lead single from Hudson Mohawke's upcoming album Cry Sugar, is an electro-shock straight to your brain's rave centers, and like any decent therapy, it leaves your perspective ever so slightly shifted.
We listed "Bicstan" as a Song You Need when it first dropped, and today sees the release of its music video directed by Patti Harrison (Together Together, I Think You Should Leave) and Wham City's Alan Resnick (Unedited Footage of a Bear).
The setting is a 1v1 basketball game though Harrison is more interested in dancing than playing. Fortunately, she has same latent superpowers to help her out. "When [Resnick and I] first heard the song," Harrison said in a statement, "we both started dancing like crazy and couldn’t stop.
When the song ended we noticed a dusty basketball in the corner of the room that was not there before. The idea for the music video came directly from this experience.
