Legendary WWE announcer Howard Finkel has died at the age of 69. WWE chief Stephanie McMahon led the tributes to the Hall of Famer, declaring: “Howard’s voice is iconic and recognised by generations of fans. “He will be missed.

Thank you for everything.” Finkel made his WWE debut in 1977 for the WWWF in Madison Square Garden. He remained a mainstay in WWE for years after becoming the company’s full-time announcer in 1979.

Finkel also took part in a number of memorable matches, notably helping X-Pac shave Jeff Jarrett’s head in a Hair vs. Hair Match at SummerSlam 1998.
