How to Train Your Dragon” during the Super Bowl, releasing a stirring new trailer after a spot during the NFL championship game.

Like the original film from 2010, this remake follows the isle of Berk, where vikings and dragons have long been enemies. But when Hiccup (Mason Thames) goes against centuries of tradition to befriend Toothless, a Night Fury dragon, he disrupts the community and opens up new possibilities for both vikings and dragons alike.

The teaser shows their initial meeting, with a wary Hiccup gently reaching out to touch Toothless on the snout, slowly earning his trust. “I’m the first viking who wouldn’t kill a dragon,” Hiccup says.

And he’s rewarded for his decision. Together, Toothless and Hiccup soar through the sky, barreling past rocky cliffs and roaring oceans, and flying far above fierce battles as the music swells. “How to Train Your Dragon” is directed by Dean DeBlois, who also directed and wrote the first three animated hits in the series, adapted from Cressida Cowell’s bestselling book series.
